London to Brighton Cycle Ride & 24 Treadmill Challenge
01 Sept, 20175 MinutesAs a company, we have set ourselves two challenges to raise funds for the Piam Brown Ward based at Southampton General Hospital. It is the Regional Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Unit.
Recently the 9-month-old nephew of someone close to our team was diagnosed with renal (kidney) cancer. The team on the Piam Brown Ward are caring for him and his family as they cope with this life-changing news. It is important to us to do what we can to fundraise for such a worthy cause.
The Piam Brown Ward is part of Southampton Children’s Hospital providing treatment, care and support for children (from birth-16yrs) who have been diagnosed with cancer. It is one of only 22 regional centres across the UK and some patients along with their parents can stay on the ward for several months as they go through treatment.
The Challenges
London to Brighton Cycle Ride
> On 17 September seven staff members will be taking on the challenge of the 54 mile London to Brighton bike ride.
24hr Treadmill Challenge
> The following week the office is taking on a 24 hour treadmill challenge. We aim to continuously power a treadmill by ‘employee’ energy from 5pm on Thursday 21 September to 5pm on Friday 22 September.
We want to raise sponsorship and awareness for the Piam Brown Ward at Southampton Children's Hospital by donating our time, energy, and sweat. Along with having fun and working as a team, we are testing our physical limits and stamina.
Should you like to support the Piam Brown Ward, Southampton Children's Hospital and Spectrum IT with these challenges then please donate to help us smash our target.
From all the team at Spectrum IT Recruitment, thank you for your kind donations.
